Job Summary The membership coordinator is responsible for coordinating membership activities for the Organization of American Historians, a professional organization for U.S. historians with over 7,000 members. Duties include, but are not limited to, working with vendors to ensure timely billing of dues and prospect mailings, direct outreach to current and lapsed members to increase retention rates, assisting members and non-members with written and verbal requests, maintaining accuracy of database, and implementing membership-related projects as determined by the Director of Membership. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with a high attention to detail. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn InDesign and Photoshop. Basic knowledge of and ability to learn HTML. Ability to receive and transfer calls. Ability to quickly learn proprietary database. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the U.S. history field and issues facing the profession. Knowledge of community engagement platforms. Working Conditions / Demands Work will primarily be performed in an office setting with extended time in front of a computer monitor and periods of high mental acuity.
