DCF’s Office of Communications is a professional team that represents the department and its mission to the public, while coordinating with media outlets around the state on a variety of issues and initiatives. Duties Primary duty is to ensure all public phone calls are answered and handled appropriately, which may include: Transferring to the appropriate internal contact (i.e. ACCESS for benefit-related questions) Directing to an external resource (i.e. Department of Revenue for child support issues) Answering simple questions (i.e. how to report child abuse) “I don’t know” is never an acceptable answer – use available resources and/or ask supervisors for guidance Also responsible for: Greeting/directing visitors and alerting Office of the Secretary staff of visitor arrival Processing and routing incoming mail and faxes Supporting the Office of Communications, Quality Office, etc. as needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Organization and attention to detail Ability to work well individually and within a group environment Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, and confident manner Please email resume to HQW.Press.Office@myflfamilies.com.
